Derek R. Svendsen

Derek R. Svendsen, Esq. is an associate with the firm. Mr. Svendsen devotes the entirety of his practice to defending employers, self-insured entities, professionals and insurance carriers in both state and federal court. Licensed in both New Jersey and New York, Mr. Svendsen possesses extensive expert discovery and trial experience at both the state and administrative levels. Derek routinely litigates claims filed under the Law Against Discrimination, the New Jersey Conscientious Employee Protection Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Age Discrimination and Employment Act. In addition to his litigation and trial savvy, The New Jersey Judiciary has acknowledged Mr. Svendsen as a certified mediator.

Prior to joining Biancamano and Di Stefano, Mr. Svendsen served as an in-house trial attorney at the state’s largest insurance carrier. There, M. Svendsen amassed immense trial and discovery experience — having conducted hundreds of depositions within his first few years of practice. Prior to working in-house, Mr. Svendsen was employed at a boutique firm that handled novel employment suits with substantial exposure. Additionally, Mr. Svendsen served as law clerk for the Honorable Russell J. Passamano, J.S.C. in the Superior Court of New Jersey.
